HAIKU POEMS

1.Blue and gray feathers

Lightweight body on thin legs
Wings wrap around core

2.Poised and alert heron
Swivels eye toward human
Listens to click, click

3. Little bird in blue
From rooftop loudly proclaims
A jay bird is here

4.Petals in velvet
Emerge from a dark green bud
Unfolding full white

5.  Fungi leave darkness
As sun's light beams down on them
White caps shine brightly

6.The lizard queen
She scurries across the rail
Looking for the king

7.Hope you're surrounded
By people and things you love
On your special day.
8.May your cake survive
the burden of wax candles
9.and flames that ensue.
Happiest Birthday!
I would offer to sing, but
Nobody wants that.
10.Pause and reflect as
The sweetest of leaves
can become rather bitter
11.When steeped for too long.
We take time to celebrate
The day of your birth.
12.  Shoelaces untied
become a tripping hazard.
Hope she falls for me.
13.Flowers withering
beneath the weight of the sun.
Yet the weeds stand proud.
14. Sleeping baby rest
In the mighty hands of God
Safest place to be
15.Lightning and thunder,
Earth and sky tremble and shake...
God’s awakening.
16.All of these straw men
together must constitute
a huge fire hazard
17. Pink flamingo stares
green leaves are poor camouflage
an evil eye watches
18. Sunlight feeds the green
grasses struggle to reach up
mower ends the fight
19.Splashing through puddles
taking the roads less traveled
it’s the miles that count

20. Green moss on the trees
clinging dampness in the air
in another world

21. A sudden statue
the power of Medusa
unwary victim

22.Spring cherry blossoms
day brightens in pink beauty
bee looks for pollen

23. Cold water gurgles
  zing sagging across the plains
as cold as the sky

24. Perfect purple rows
cultivated for profit
hyacinth in bloom

25. Color against death
flowers huddle together
spring blooms from the ground

26.'till I fall asleep
I'll watch the sky turn dark-blue
In her protective arms.

27. It is a strange dream,
Silver tears, broken wings,
Falling from the sky.

28.The heavenly song
Of the little tears splashing
The waterfall’s beauty

29..It's a land of dreams
Without beginning and end
Where I want to go.

 30.Autumn moonlight—
a worm digs silently
into the chestnut.

31.Lightning flash—
what I thought were faces
are plumes of pampas grass.

32. A summer river being crossed
how pleasing
with sandals in my hands!

33.In the moonlight,
The color and scent of the wisteria
Seems far away.

34.Light of the moon
Moves west, flowers' shadows
Creep eastward.

35.Everything I touch
with tenderness, alas,
pricks like a bramble.

36.The crow has flown away:swaying in the evening sun,
a leafless tree.

37.In the coolness
of the empty sixth-month sky...
 the cuckoo's cry.

38.Whitecaps on the bay:
A broken signboard banging
In the April wind.

39.ground squirrel
balancing its tomato
on the garden fence

 40.As the wind does blow
Across the trees, I see the
Buds blooming in May

41.I walk across sand
And find myself blistering
In the hot, hot heat

42.Falling to the ground,
I watch a leaf settle down
In a bed of brown.

 43.It’s cold—and I wait
For someone to shelter me
And take me from here.

 44.I hear crackling
Crunch, of today’s new found day
And know it won’t last

45.Falling to the ground,
I watch a leaf settle down
In a bed of brown.

 46.A cricket disturbed
the sleeping child; on the porch
a man smoked and smiled.

47.I'm turning over
look out and give me room there
you cricket, you.

48.As the wind does blow
Across the trees, I see the
                Buds blooming in May

49.The beaches waves hit
Sounding of flooding water
Soothes aches all over

50.Silence around us
Our watchful eyes hear the world
Hands do the talking
